Thankful Thursdays: April 19

Sorry for no post last night. The evening just whooshed by and I forgot that I had not written...so today you get Thankful Thursday early.

Today I'm thankful:

That the place I take my car to have the oil changed is so close to work.
Thank you, Palmetto Tire, for being so conveniently located, that I can feel independent by dropping off my car and walking the three blocks to my office.  That and your friendly workers are why I have been taking my car (and former truck) to you for more than 10 years. You're the best.

For the Brombys.
Photo stolen from Eric's FB.
This family is the best.  At a party last weekend celebrating their daughter's upcoming wedding, I realized one important fact: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE BROMBY.  They are all four equally funny, friendly and welcoming people.  Plus I call three of the four of them by their initials regularly and that is just cool.  This all doesn't make them sound as awesome as they are. I'm sorry my words are failing, but just trust me.

That I got to tell all my favorite Europe-trip stories last night.
These are some of the best stories of my life and I love telling them and laughing about them.
Look how largely I am smiling.  Evidence that Europe=a great time.

That laughter is so abundant in my life.
I love laughing. Nothing makes you feel better. If you don't believe me, maybe you'll believe Glozell in this video.

That I've been able to stick to my Goal of the Week with out too much consternation.
Some days it's just easier to be on plan, right?  This week has been a great week that way.
Does this pasta dish look gross? It does
taste better than it looks, but it won't be
winning any awards.
For my phone.
I know I lived without a cell phone for a very long time. And I lived without a smart phone for even longer. But that just makes me appreciate the fact that I was able to watch one of favorite tv shows on my phone while on the elliptical at the gym yesterday even more.

That I'm not doing the Mud Run on Saturday, but I get to watch.
I'm not in shape to do it, but I am glad that I get to watch and cheer on my friends as they do it.  And I'll be doubly thankful if the weather forecast for Saturday turns out to be a joke.  Severe thunderstorms sounds horrible.
I will not be this muddy on Saturday. But they will.
And I will take great pictures.
That my friend Meghan found a healthier alternative for me than Crystal Light.
This similar mix from Target brand Archer Farms doesn't have aspertame. It's sweetened with Stevia.

What are you thankful for? Let the world know in the comments section below!

  1. Oooh, I like a morning post from you...it helps me get my mind in the right place while I'm at work. :)

Tell me about this stevia-sweetened drink mix...you know I live on Crystal Light (and it's generic cousins).

    1. Well, this morning I'm trying Strawberry Dragonfruit, but Meghan shared three flavors with me.

It's lighter than Crystal Light. And less overpoweringly tart. It takes more vigorous shaking to get it to mix up, but nothing you can't handle.

I am thankful that even though it wasn't easy today, I pushed myself and runked 1.5 miles.
I'm thankful that you are getting aspertame out of your system!!
I'm thankful that I have community life group tonight and that I get to see some of my favorite people.

  3. That last picture of you holding the not Crystal Light packet is how many women take pictures of themselves holding pregnancy tests. It made me laugh. : )

I am thankful for DCB, who is a gracious, flexible, wonderful husband.

I am thankful for my work friends and my friend friends.

I am thankful that the weather is looking good for the mud run tomorrow.

    1. Gag, Amie. I would never photograph myself holding a pee stick. Not that I have plans to ever need a pee stick.
