Here is my list:
Cookout (with milkshake)
Zaxby's
Moe's (of course)
Pizza
BoJangles
As you can see it is an almost shameful list of last meals. It's also a not-so-great way to think. If I being on track means never being able to eat my favorite foods again, then I will ALWAYS eventually go off track. I don't think I will ever give up all of these foods for good. But I also can't eat them regularly, because of their aforementioned NSH-ness.
Before this week, I had been on a months-long slide of NSHE. So when I decided last Sunday that this week I would not eat out at all until Friday night, it left me no time to squeeze in my last meals. It seemed like a tall order too; I wasn't actually sure if I was going to make it all week without eating out (Spoiler alert: it was hard, but I did.).
Here's the thing, I used my Friday night meal out to get pizza. It was a splurge, but I had been looking forward to it all week. But after I ate it, I felt satisfied. I don't feel like "I MUST EAT OUT TODAY" like I sometimes (usually) do. I feel like I could be okay not eating out today. Truth is, I probably will have at least one meal out today, as I'm going to be away most of the day watching my friends do the US Marine Corps Mud Run. But I think I can bounce back tomorrow and gear up for the beginning of the week with some homemade food.
Do you guys ever do something as silly as last meals?
PS I also met my other goal of the week: to run/walk (runk) three times. On Thursday I was rewarded at the end of my runk by getting to pet a Golden Retriever puppy (basically, the most perfect type of puppy). This morning I hit up the RiverWalk and got to enjoy the beautiful smell of the blooming honeysuckle bushes all along the trail. I feel like both of these incidents are the universe/Rock Hill trying to thank me for my beautiful post about loving to run in Rock Hill. You're welcome universe/Rock Hill. Keep sending me your appreciation, and I will keep appreciating you. It's a circle.

Honeysuckle smell is one of my fave! Also, my sunburn has finally peeled and I'm ready to get out and runk or wog again!
ReplyDeleteahhhhhh, we love the runk! We gotta have the runk. ahhhhhh - we love the runk! We gotta have that runk!
ReplyDeleteWhat time were you out there? I was there around 9:30 enjoying the smell! :)
ReplyDeleteI got there about 7:45. I had to get in and get out early so I could make it to the Mud Run.
DeleteI totally do the last meal thing....even to where I do a crazy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and then pint of ice cream....I think I'm ready for some homemade food, but right now I'm fighting a "havent been to the grocery store for anything but milk in so long I'm overwhelmed at where to start to buy some food to make for the week"...I need to just pick a breakfast, lunch and dinner I want to have, like just one, at least start there...right?
Deletehaha - i totally do this, too. I find that there are points in my life where i'm good at balancing the NSHE-ness and can do the occasional bojangles or milkshake without it totally throwing me off. And other times - i just have to say farewell for awhile because i need to build up some endurance (will power endurance).
ReplyDeleteYou can do this!
