Each day I run, I can head out in a different direction and find something unique or beautiful. Today I took off from the campus where I work and went left. I meandered past one park and headed for a second park, that I know to be a beautiful spot. This is what I found.

Don't worry, I took these pictures during my cool down. During the actual runking (run/walking), I was working hard.
Rock Hill has some seriously amazing parks.
Most of my path back to campus was covered with beautiful shade trees like this one.
And man, I needed those shade trees today. Must've been 80 degrees out there; I was dodging from one shady patch to the next.
I love going out without a set path to follow. Just letting my feet take me in whatever direction (or whatever direction has the least amount of hills) they choose.
I love that slightly achy feeling I have when I get back.
I love actually doing something about being overweight, instead of just whining about it all of the time.
Basically, today was a good run. :)

Great post! Beautiful pictures! Yay for enjoying running!

Hooray for good runs! My four day running streak was completely derailed by the weekend. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, last night I dreamt Abi and I were climbing all over the inside of a house (on top of counters and dressers and bookshelves). No doubt a dream prefacing our Saturday obstacle course. : )
These kinds of posts and pictures make me miss the Thrill.
ReplyDeleteAgreed - doing something is way better than just thinking about doing something or complaining about not doing anything. Awesome job and great pics! Are you still biking?
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not biking until I get my lazy self to the bike shop to have them fix my double flat tires. I have been biking on the stationary bikes at the West Center to hopefully make it easier once I start back on the real bike.
