I once volunteered at a residential center for people recovering from addiction. I overheard a lady talking about how you've really got to fight addiction one day at a time or you'll never make it. That's how I feel right now. Today is done, and I succeeded in sticking to my plans. I've prepared for tomorrow, and I just have to try my best. That's all I can do.
I've had a great few days worth of workouts. I did my brick on Saturday, had a great 11 mile bike ride with friends on Sunday, boogie boarded and jumped waves in a strong current for HOURS on Monday and swam today. Tomorrow it's back to running.
Wish me luck! I'm hoping I can string together several days of "being good" and call it a streak.

Yay Jill!

Awesome! Go you!
ReplyDeleteThe "one day at a time" philosophy works for so many situations in life. I'm glad you're out of your Eeyore funk ... although I'd like to go on record saying that Eeyore is my favorite of the Pooh characters!
