I tend to go on streaks where I eat the same healthy snacks every day for weeks at a time. Lately, I've been doing these Breakstone's Cottage Doubles cottage cheese and fruit combos. My favorite flavors are peach and pineapple. The strawberry and blueberry are slightly gross. They come in 100 calorie packs, which have 8 g of protein, making them pretty filling for 100 calories.
My second current go-to snack is Breyer's Yo Crunch Fruit Parfait. I prefer it in Strawberry. It comes with a packet of granola on top that you mix in, making them very similar to the fruit & yogurt parfaits you can get now from McDonald's and Chic-fil-A (except smaller). These guys are 120 calories and 3 g of protein. They are not quite as satisfying as the cottage cheese, but they are very sweet and a nice tasty treat.I was eating a lot of almonds, but I am S-I-C-K of them. I'm also getting pretty tired of both the cottage cheese and fruit and yogurt parfaits (plus, that's a lot dairy, really). So I'm going to use this What's Up Wednesday to my advantage and hopefully get some great new snack ideas from ya'll.
Let me hear from you! What's your favorite healthy snack?

Peanut butter apple : )

My current fave is those new Fiber One brownies. They have 90 calories and they are DELICIOUS!
ReplyDeleteGreek yogurt and honey! (is that healthy?)
ReplyDeleteI also love the pineapple/cottage cheese double.
Cucumbers in vinegar and dill.
I'm with Abi - only I mix a little bit of honey into my peanut butter and enjoy it with an apple.
ReplyDeleteI could also eat a can of peas at any moment. True story.
Pretzels and little cubes of cheese; Dried fruit (calorie heavy, I know) but I eat only a couple at a time; The Kashi granola bars: Dark Mocha Almond, 130 calories; Hummus and various veggies; Triscuts (the Publix Kind); greek yogurt; homemade smoothies (recipes from Real Simple!).
ReplyDeleteAbi- I would love a peanut butter apple, but I'm still not ready for peanut butter in the house.
ReplyDeleteDaniel- a can of peas??? I've decided, you must comment more often.
I think I will try the Fiber One brownies, Apes.
Britt- I love smoothies, but cleaning the blender is too much work. I think I'll give the cubes o' cheese a try. Oh, and hummus and veggies! That's a great idea.
I have been eating the Greek yogurt for probably almost over a year. I just love it! I mix it with Kashi Go-Lean Crunch and it is so good!
ReplyDeleteOh and it is the fruity yogurt. No the plain because that tastes like glue.
