My frown was turned upside down today when this new bike arrived at my house. My brothers and sisters and my parents went in together to buy me this amazing bike (I'm thinking of naming her Fiona.). The effort was spearheaded by my siblings, which makes it even more meaningful.
My sister and her family came to deliver it this afternoon. I started crying when I saw it. I don't deserve it, and they shouldn't have gone to the expense. But what a difference it has made in my attitude in such a short time! I took it out for a spin tonight and as I passed various places, I thought, "I can get to the bank now! ... I can get to PW's now! ... I can get to the grocery store now! I can get to work now!" I biked to work and back, and it's 15 minutes one way. I even biked on the road the whole way (I used to stick to sidewalks.) Looks like I'm going to be a bike commuter now!
I may not be biking to the other side of town, but my radius has significantly expanded. :) :)
