The Ugly, the Bad and the Good

The good, the bad and the ugly... a convenient way for me to sum up the past couple weeks in dieting world.  But, because I don't want to end on a sour note, I'm going to reverse it and do the Ugly, the Bad and the Good.  Wrap it all up with the positive stuff...

The Ugly
-I could barely move all of last week because I was so sore from working out again and getting back in the weight room.
-I have about four times the amount of clothes any one person should own.  This is an unfortunate necessity, because I have to warehouse clothes in approximately four different sizes. And as seasons are changing, I'm realizing that I actually have very little in my current size that is appropriate for the season.

The Bad
-Last week I had two good days of tracking my food. Then I realized I was going out of town for the weekend, and let the attitude of "I'm not going to be eating well or tracking when I'm out of town, might as well stop now" get in my head. Also last week I did not do a good job of grocery shopping and got some snacks that were too many calories.
-This week I'm only doing slightly better. I think the enormity of what I need to do (again!) is settling in.
-My fitness levels have fallen very far.

The Good
-I've been meeting co-workers two days a week before work to workout.  This has been great for several reasons:
  1. I'm obligated to not sleep through my alarm.
  2. They've gotten me back in the weight room.
  3. They come up with challenging and creative workouts that make the time go by quickly.
  4. They are actually quite chipper and encouraging at 7 a.m. (as opposed to me at that time).
-I've been back on my fancy schmancy bike a bit and loving every minute of it. I hope I keep it up.
-Exercise makes me feel good.

What's been Ugly, the Bad and the Good about your week thus far?

  1. My Ugly is that if I wasnt running I'd be gaining weight every week because I'm not able to resist junk food, fast food, dessert food, and I eat one or more of those every day. I'm calling that Ugly because running makes me appear to be healthy but I'm far from it. I could be losing more weight than I already am, and achieving a high fitness level...instead I think I'm just squeaking by.... no matter what I do, I always crave sweets and I too easily justify have one or more every day. Skipping Bad, my Good is that I'm running at least.

    1. I think I've read that running makes you hungrier, so a lot of people gain weight when training for long distance runs. So at least you're ahead of the game if you're not gaining.

  2. The Good: SPRING! MY BIRTHDAY MONTH! 40 MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL!
The Bad: 40 MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL! STRESS!
The Ugly: THE YEARBOOK IS PAST DUE!

  3. Ha! I have not been good about reminding you about the yearbook. Also, we never had a yearbook party! Although, you didn't finish it last year until after Tay BC's wedding, right? So you're way ahead at this point.

  4. The Ugly: I was trying to repair our dryer, but in taking it apart have confused which wires go where and don't know how to find out.
The Bad: I have had no desire to cook this week.
The good: I have found a small group I love, it is spring, and I have been outside a lot :)
